Swimmers had another fantastic day at the National Age Group Championships. The day started with the Girls 400IM. Megan Wallis and Tilly Hansen-Hamilton in the 11/12 years age group swam a strong race in the heats along with Lucy Minikin in the 14 years age group.
However it was Sophia Wilson in the 11/12 years age group who put in an amazing performance in the heats securing her place in the final. Sophia did not disappoint as she swam a magnificent personal best in 5.08.56 and secured the Silver medal in the final.
Max Jameson had another great day and in the Boys 13 years 200m Fly ensuring his place in the final finishing in 8th place.
The 11/12 years Girls 200m Breaststroke swimmers Isabella Fakkel, Eva Munden and Megan Wallis put in some strong performances, but it was Sophia Wilson whose performance in 2.44.83 which ensured she made the final finishing in 7th position.
In the 13 years age group Rosanna Arnold and Amy Hodgson put in some incredible performances, both girls swam excellently in the heats, but they saved the best to last as Amy Hodgson’s brilliant swim ensured she finished the final in a time of 2.41.28 winning a Bronze medal and Rosanna Arnold whose stunning performance secured her the Gold medal in a time of 2.37.97.
Not to be outdone Alicia Wilson also put in a great performance in the heats and finished 5th in the 14 years olds final in 2.37.87.
Piers Bowden swam a great race in the 100m Free and Alicia Wilson was back in action with another good swim in the Girls 100m Fly.
Henry Offin and Jan Rasmussen swam strongly in the 14 years 200IM and Piers Bowden was back in the pool for the Boys 13 years 200IM along with Max Jameson with another outstanding performance which secured Max another final where he finished 4th.
The day finished with the Girls 4 x 100m Free relay with Olivia Ng, Anna Cutts, Molly Robinson and Alicia Wilson finishing in 4.09.4
