Guildford ‘s junior swimmers travelled to Luton on Sunday October 4th as winners of MKJL Division 1 to compete against the other 5 winners of their respective leagues in the Southern Semi Final of the Junior Arena Inter League. Their opposition was strong coming from Plymouth Leander, Northampton, Camden Swiss Cottage, UAE Norwich and City of Derby.

The team started in great style winning 6 of the first set of 8 relays. In the Individual events they achieved 15 1st places and 12 2nd places. Before the final set of relays they were winning by a large margin and they added to this by again winning 6 of the last 9 relays and being 2nd in the other 3.

They thrilled their travelling supporters and Coaches, Sally, Steve, Andy and Araceli by achieving 260 points – 84 points ahead of their nearest rivals!!

This win secures the team’s place in the Grand Final where the swimmers will take on the top teams from the North. They have every chance of defending the title that they won last year if they continue to train hard and ENJOY!
