25 more medals were won by GC swimmers on the 2nd and final weekend of the Surrey Summer Development Meet. Most of these were won by 9 and 10 year olds who did their coaches proud.
A clean sweep of medals came in the boys age 10 with Kenzie Russell taking gold, William Smith silver and Dan Hicks bronze. William swam to Gold in the 200m fly and silver in the 100m IM. Dan took silver in the fly and another silver in the 100m free with the bronze in the 100m IM.
Also for the boys Pavel Zabarsky (14) and Bruce McCormick (15) won golds in their 100m IM events. Deniz Yalcinkaya (10) took silver in his 50m breast.
William Jackson (10) swam admirably over both weekends and won a bronze medal last weekend in the 100m backs.
In the girls age 9 Louise Bressler swam away from the field to win the 200m IM by some 10 seconds. Isabella Dash took silver in that event and followed it up with the gold in the 100m breast winning by 11 seconds. In the 50m breast in the same age band Connie Mortimer swam to the gold with Freya Tribe taking bronze. Freya won the silver in the 100m IM with Martha Fitzwater winning bronze.
The 10 year old girls were also successful. Hettie Whittington swam to Gold in the 50m breast with Ella Barker closely behind her in silver spot. In the 200m IM Seren Price won gold and Katy Mitchell swam to silver. Katy also won bronze in the 200m fly with Naomi George winning silver. Charlotte Fakkel won bronze in the 100m IM.
Numerous 4th – 8th ribbons were also achieved and Steve, Sally, Araceli and Sam were delighted with all the swimmers efforts over both weekends.
