Guildford City’s Competitive Development Squads will be sending an unprecedented 38 swimmers competing in 171 events into the Surrey County Championships commencing with the distance freestyle events on Saturday 2 March at Surrey Sports Park.
“If CDS was a stand alone club it would be ranked 12th in Surrey for County Championship entries. Out of a total of 26 Surrey Clubs this is very promising” stated Lead CDS Coach Jon Brayne. “Richard Garfield set me the target of coming within the top five amongst all Surrey Clubs within five years of starting CDS. After three years we are well on the way of achieving that target”
Richard Garfield commented “We are all very proud of the progress CDS has made since its inception in April 2010.
Jon Brayne, Ariceli Cruz O’Dyer, Paul France and their respective colleagues should be delighted with all of their achievements. The large number of Surrey entries this year is a testament to the swimmer’s hard work and the excellent guidance they receive from their Coaches. The Guildford City Competitive Development Squads have indeed become a competitive force to be reckoned with!”
