City Grab 3rd Place in National Arena swimming League A Cup Final

In a tense and closely fought gala Guildford City came away with third place – a mere 13 points behind the eventual winners Plymouth Leander. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the competition the Club sent an enthusiastic group of swimmers, coaches and supporters to Cardiff Sunday 3 March.

For the first time in Guildford history the Club won the Relay Challenge Trophy for the team with the best aggregate time winning 5 of the 16 relay events. Along the way the U12 girls’ 4x50m Medley team (Lexi Hughes – Charlotte Cope – Lottie Roberts – Jess Harmer) broke the League Record. Tatiana Belonogoff was top female swimmer for her winning breaststroke time of 1:08.05 and Fergus Thomson and Lottie Roberts won top swimmer awards for the youngest age group. Lottie Roberts broke the Girls u12 50m Butterfly record becoming the first u12 female in League history to record a time of below 30 seconds winning her event in 29.30.
