British Summer Championships – Day 1 City off to a great start with finals and Medals

City Swimmers had a successful first day at Ponds Forge with a number of personal, best, finals and medals.

First up in the Men’s Open 400 Free was Henry Offin  with a start time of 4.14.91.  Henry secured a good PB in the heat in 4.09.97 giving him a place in the final where he came 9th in 4.11.78.

Next was the Men’s Open 100 Breast 13/14 years with Charlie Trotman who swam a solid race in 1.11.70 giving him a place in the final where he came 6th in 1.10.82.  Luca Frankhauser  also in the 13/14 years also swam a great race and in the final he came 8th  in 1.11.10 Sergiu Cheţe swimming in the 17/18 years swam well in the heats in 1.06.85.

In the Women’s Open 400 IM was Tilly Hansen-Hamilton who swam well in the 13/14 years in 5.12.75.  Sophia Wilson won the first medal of the meet clinching a well-deserved silver with a PB in 4.53.89 in the 15 years age group.  Alicia Wilson swimming in the 16 years swam a great race gaining her a place in the final where she finished 5th in 5.00.62.



tatiana-nationals-16-50BR-goldThe last race for City Swimmers was the Open Women’s 50 Breast.  Tatiana Belongoff swimming in the 15 years age group swam a great race in the heats and won Gold in the final in a very exciting close finish in 32.21 giving City their second medal of the day.  Sarah Tripp had a very good swim in the 17/18 years age group where she swam a great race gaining her a place in the final where she came 4th in 32.61. Lucy Bean swimming in the 19 years and over, swam very well getting a PB in each race and in the final Lucy came 5th in 32.43.
