7 gold medals and 3 world records for Jodie Cox

Jodie-CoxGuildford City Masters swimmer, Jodie Cox has returned from the World Transplant Games in Argentina with an impressive 7 gold medals and 3 world records.

This year was the 20th edition of the games, and the first time it’s been held in South America. Held every two years, the games are the ‘Olympics’ for transplanted athletes; all competitors have received a life saving organ or bone marrow transplant.

Jodie, who received a liver transplant in 2009, competed in the 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle and 200 IM. She broke her own 200m and 400m free records, as well as the 50m free world record which had stood for 20 years.
