We are delighted to welcome you back to the pool after the summer break! The coaches are excited to see our swimmers return with renewed energy and enthusiasm, ready to dive into another season of growth, hard work, and shared success.
Achievements
Last season was one of the most successful in our club’s history. For the first time, athletes from not only our Performance Squads but also our Senior and Age Group National Squads competed at the British Summer Championships—a milestone that reflects the depth of talent and commitment across the club.
The summer also saw three of our swimmers compete internationally: Gisella Silano at the European Youth Olympics Festival in North Macedonia, Darcy Revitt at the Under 23 Championships in Slovakia, and Matin Balsini at the World Championships in Singapore.
We also made history by becoming the first club ever to win both the Junior and Senior Arena League titles in the same season—a feat we have now achieved in back-to-back years. These remarkable results highlight the strength of our swimmers across all age groups and the exceptional work of our coaching team. But most importantly, they show that success is only possible because of the hard work and dedication of swimmers throughout the whole club, the tireless commitment of our coaches, and the constant support of parents and families.
Finally, we also want to celebrate the achievements of Christina Victor. Christina is a World Championships Medallist, Trustee to the club and now the Surrey ASA County President. Christina has supported the development of both the Masters swimmers and Officials at Guildford City and now been appointed Surrey County President for the 2025/26 season. Congratulations Christina! Also congratulations to Emma France and Justine Ryan who have been made honorary Life Vice Presidents.
Club Development & Enjoyment
Beyond competition, last season offered countless opportunities for our swimmers to learn and enjoy their sport. Our Academy and Transition Squads finished the year with a fantastic end-of-season Splash Night, full of fun and team spirit. Our sport psychology sessions proved invaluable in helping young people build confidence, resilience, and focus—skills that serve them both in and out of the water.
Swimmers also benefited from our individual stroke clinics, which gave them the chance to refine their technique and strengthen their understanding of the sport. In our Academy and Transition Squads, it has been especially rewarding to see young swimmers enjoying their learning, growing in confidence, and beginning their journey in competitive swimming.
Looking Ahead
The season ahead is full of exciting opportunities. Our coaches are enthusiastic about helping swimmers of all ages strengthen their stroke technique, sharpen their skills, and grow in confidence with each session. Progress in the water comes step by step, and we look forward to celebrating every improvement—big or small.
We also have some thrilling competitions on the horizon, including both Junior and Senior Arena Leagues and Club Championships. These events are a fantastic chance for our swimmers to test themselves, work as a team, and showcase their dedication.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children’s development in the sport we all love. With the combined efforts of swimmers, coaches, and parents, we are confident this season will be filled with progress, pride, and plenty of memorable moments.
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead, both in the pool and as a community.
Warm regards,
GCSC Management Team
