In an unprecedented year a truly unprecedented competition took place on Saturday, 11 November at Spectrum.
Guildford City is the first club in the National Arena League South history to have three teams competing in the Premiership and in round two all three teams competed against each other together with Woking, Rushmoor Royals and Chelmsford.
With over 130 Guildford swimmers on poolside plus 20 coaches it was a frantic, exhilarating, and remarkable evening of great sportsmanship and success! Results of the night were:
1st Guildford City A
2nd Guildford City B
3rd Guildford City C
4th Woking
5th Rushmoor Royals
6th Chelmsford
“An amazing night! No question that we were all part of something very special” said Director of Swimming Richard Garfield. “Our strength in depth was awesome and a massive credit to our training programme and the dedicated Coaches who work tirelessly every day to help our swimmers be the best that they can be”
Moving to the third and final round on 9th December, the A team will compete to retain its Premiership Championship Title whilst the B and C teams will compete against each other together with four other clubs, venues to be announced. Although the B team are ranked 5th in the League and deserve a place in the Southern Final, League Rules dictate that only one team per club may compete in the Southern Final.
The coaches could not be prouder of all the swimmers and are grateful to our officials and spectators who gave great support throughout.
