    Athletes all Ages


    To be completed by members aged 18 years or over, or by parents of members under 18 years – Separate forms should be completed for each swimmer.
    Please complete each box as requested.

    This code is something that you as an athlete should refer to in relation to your rights as an athlete whilst on the camp, the respect you should expect but also that which you demonstrate to other members, what is expected of you in terms of listening and being listened to and your behavior as a member.

    As a member of our camp, you have the right to:

    • Feel safe and know how you can raise concerns.

    • Be listened to.

    • Be involved and contribute towards decisions about activities etc whilst on the camp.

    • Be respected and treated fairly by every member of the camp.

    • Feel welcomed, valued and not judged based on your race, gender, sexuality, faith, ability or any other relevant characteristic.

    • Be encouraged and developed with our help and support.

    • Be looked after if there’s an accident or injury and have your parents/guardians/emergency contact informed, where appropriate.

    As a member of our camp, we expect you to:

    • Be aware of Wavepower Safeguarding and adhere to relevant guidance.

    • Adhere to the Swim England regulations, Code of Ethics, Club codes and policies and rules.

    • Listen to the Coaches and Team Managers, behave responsibly and speak out when something isn’t right.

    • Make it to training and activities on time and if you’re running late, let a coach or team manager know.

    • Make your coach or team manager aware if you experience any problems or if you are feeling unwell etc.

    • Bring the right kit to training and activities.

    • Ensure you stay hydrated and eat sensibly.

    • Take care of equipment and premises at the resort as if they were your own.

    • Support and encourage your teammates on the camp.

    • Respect other guests and staff at the resort.

    • Respect the coaching and team managers who are volunteering their time to attend the camp.

    Camp Members should note the following:

    • Camp members may visit the Beach adjacent to the resort during the day only if in groups of 2 or more. Camp members must stay in front of the Resort grounds and not venture further along the beach. After our evening meal the beach is strictly out of bounds.

    • Camp members may not leave the resort venue to climb the adjacent hills. This is strictly out of bounds at all times

    • This is a dry Camp and NO Camp members eg swimmers, coaches or team managers are permitted to drink alcohol, smoke or procure it for anyone else during the camp.

    • A curfew time will be given to swimmers on the camp in the evening. After this time all swimmers should return to their own rooms for the night.

    • Swimmers sharing rooms should respect the right of others to be able to sleep at a reasonable time in order to be fresh for morning training.

    We expect certain standards of behaviour from members on the camp. By joining the camp, you are therefore agreeing to this Code of Conduct:

    • Follow the rules of the Camp & Resort at all times.

    • Respect and celebrate other people’s differences including camp members, staff or other guests at the resort etc.

    • Not discriminate against anyone else on the grounds of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, faith, ability, or any other relevant characteristic.

    • Understand that the use of abusive or inappropriate language, bullying, physical violence or any other behaviour which hurts others will not be tolerated on the camp.

    • Respect the privacy of others especially in shared rooms or changing areas.

    • Any misuse of mobile phones will not be tolerated. This includes unwanted and inappropriate messaging, photographs or videos.

    • Report any concerns you have about someone sending/taking inappropriate or unwanted messages, photographs or videos.

    • Report any incidents of bullying or unacceptable behaviour to the Team Managers, even if you’re just a witness.

    Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action being taken against swimmers by the Team Managers and any behaviour which may be a criminal offence will be reported to the relevant authority and in such circumstances, swimmers may be flown home at parents’ expense.

    Swimmers 18 plus should complete the form themselves and are signing to confirm they have read and agree to the Code of Conduct.

    For swimmers under 18 years of age: Parents should ensure they complete the form with their swimmer and confirm they have read the code of conduct with their swimmer and can confirm that both the parent and the swimmer fully understand and agree to the Code of Conduct.
