Awards & Badges
• Exciting Awards Scheme aimed at the entire junior section of Guildford City
• “Awards Week” held every term for the Academy & Satellites
• Integrated with the ASA Competitive Awards Scheme
• Earn either ASA Competitive Swimming Performance Badges or Guildford City Achievement Certificates in all strokes for Sprints, Middle Distance & Distance events
• Motivational for all swimmers of all abilities
• Everyone who takes part is guaranteed to receive an Award
“Awards Week”
Once per term every swimmer in the Academy will be given the opportunity to compete at an appropriate distance on a specific stroke. This will include all Spectrum Teaching Pool swimmers and all of the Satellites. Based upon the results swimmers will be able to claim either (1) ASA Competitive Swimming Performance Badge OR (2) Guildford City Achievement Certificate. “Awards Week” will generally be held the week before half term and will be announced with sufficient warning so everyone can be best prepared.
(1) ASA Competitive Swimming Performance Badges
• Highest level of competitive award is the ASA Competitive Swimming Performance Badge
• Earn Platinum – Gold – Silver – Bronze Badges for all strokes
• Three groups of events – Sprint 50m & 100m – Middle Distance 200m – Distance 400m and up
• Badges can be earned at any time during the year
• All Badges to be presented by the Coaches

(2) Guildford City Achievement Certificate
Swimmers who are outside the criteria for the ASA Competitive Swimming Performance Badges will receive a Guildford City Achievement Certificate which will be presented by their coach at a later date.
Claiming an Award
At the end of “Awards Week” each parent will be sent an email with their respective squad’s results. They should check this against the Time Chart above and contact info.gfdsc@gmail.com to either purchase a badge or claim a certificate.
Badge Costs – Circle – £3 Stripe – £2
Please note Badges can be earned & purchased throughout the year with results at open meets, league galas and time trials. To purchase outside of “Awards Week” contact info.gfdsc@gmail.com giving the date and event at which the time was achieved. All Badge costs will be invoiced on a monthly basis via TeamUnify.
