The Guildford City Junior Development programme operates from five different swimming pools in the local area including the Guildford Spectrum.
Sessions are skills based and enjoyable, providing the opportunity for swimmers aged 6 years and up to enjoy swimming lessons ranging from 1 hour to 6 hours per week. There are also 1/2 hour Learn to Swim Penguins sessions available at some of our venues for younger swimmers.
The main goal of Junior Development is to help youngsters develop confidence in the water and to become proficient and legal in all four strokes. Swimmers with high aspirations are encouraged to train hard and often so that they may progress to the Competitive Development Division of the Club. Subject to a trial and space availability JD swimmers who have reached the age of 15 may join the Junior Masters Division.
The Guildford City Satellite Squad teachers and coaches take a nurturing approach to an individual’s personal development and the acquisition of basic aquatic skills is spread over a suitable period and therefore accomplished with minimised pressure.
If you wish to trial in one of our Junior Development sessions please contact Jan Griffiths – details below.
