Senior Performance: It is All Change as we say Goodby to Jon Brayne & Hello to Ivo and Sergey Mandradzhiyski

Jon Brayne, Lead Coach of Senior Performance will be leaving Guildford City on 17 May for a new position. We would like to wish Jon all the best going forwards and thank him for all his hard work within the Club.

We are delighted however, to announce that Ivo and Sergey Mandradzhiyski have been appointed as joint Lead Coaches of Senior Performance and also Joint Leads of the Master’s Squad, they will be coaching on different days, and this will ensure flexibility of coaching going forwards.

Ivo will take over as the Joint lead on 19 May and as Sergey is getting married on 16th May in Bulgaria he will be away for 2 weeks before joining the Squad. Ivo is already the Lead Coach of Master’s Squad and again Sergey will be joining as joint Lead on his return.

They are very much looking forward as Joint Leads of Senior Performance to building on the success achieved by Jon Brayne and will be working hard to take the squad to another level using their vast international experience and sports science degrees detailed below:

Biographies
Ivo and Sergey joined the club in September 2011​ and since then have worked in all sections of the club.

coach-ivoIvo graduated with a BA Sports Coaching Science’ Degree from the University of Worcester. He is a qualified Level 2 ​Coach with 20 years experience in competitive swimming. Ivo was Bulgarian National Age Group champion and a representative at several international meets. He was a men’s multiple medalist at the Bulgarian Nationals.

coach-sergeySergey is also a graduate in BA ‘Sports Coaching Science’ from University of Worcester and an ASA Level 2 qualified Coach. He is a former member of the Bulgarian Junior National Swimming Team with several international performances and a gold medalist at the Bulgarian Championships.
