The gala took place at Spectrum and the atmosphere was noisy and exhilarating. They were taking on strong competition from Hillingdon, Teddington, Staines, Oxford and Ealing.
From the word go Guildford were in charge winning 5 of the first bank of 8 relays. They built on this with 15 winning spots out of the 32 individual events with a further 14 runner up places. Once again in the final block of relays they again won 5 of the 9 remains races. All this after being back at training for only 5 days!
A real team effort rewarded Guildford with a massive win – with a 75 points advantage over runners up Hillingdon.
The team now progress to the Southern Inter League Final which will involve the 8 winners of the Southern Leagues. This will be held at Luton on Sunday October 4th in the early afternoon. Hopefully they will build on their current success and continue their winning ways to progress to the Arena Junior League Final at the end of November to defend the title that Guildford won last year.
