Guildford Swimmers shine at 1st weekend of Surrey Development Meet

Guildford City swimmers competing on the 1st weekend of the Surrey Summer Development Meet won a plethora of medals and ribbons.

They took clean sweeps of medals in 2 events. In the boys aged 10 200 breast Deniz Yalcinkaya took gold with Filip Price silver and Kenzie Russell bronze. Not to be outdone the 10 year old girls emulated them in their 100 fly event. Freya Taylor swam to gold Ella Barker took silver and Georgia Grant bronze.

Connie Mortimer had a very successful weekend with 2 gold medals in the 50 fly and 200 breast and a bronze in the 50 back in the 9 year old girls age band. Hettie Whittington swam to gold in the 200 free and silver in the 200 breast at the 10 year old level. Annabel Mullooly swam in the back events and took gold in the 50 and silver in the 200 again for the 10 year olds.

For the boys Pavel Zabarsky swam in the 14 year old age band to a great gold in the 200 breaststroke and silver in the 50 back.
Filip Price won the gold in the 10 year old boys 50 back with William Smith taking bronze.

Freya Taylor, 10: 100 back bronze, 50 fly bronze
Darcey Revitt, 9: 200 back silver
Freya Tribe, 9: 200 back bronze
Ella Barker, 10: 50 fly silver
Charlotte Fakkel, 10: 50 back bronze

Coach Sally Williamson was delighted with all the performances and so many enormous PBs! Roll on weekend number 2.
