Day 2 ASA Nationals – Some Great Personal Bests with Finals and Medals

Piers Bowden had a great swim in the heats of the Men’s 50 free in 25.80 finishing in 9th place in the 15 years final in 26.02.

In the Men’s 100 fly James Morris was just outside PB pace in 1.05.82 at his first ever Nationals. Alex Armstrong just missed a place in the finals swimming in a Personal Best in the heats in 1.02.19. Dylan Conway swam a good race just outside his PB in 1.02.30 and narrowly missed the final.

Molly Robinson swam and a strong heat in the Women’s 100 fly in a personal best of 1.04.68 grabbing the gold in the 16 years age group.

The 200 Men’s Breast saw Alex Hicks swim an excellent heat in a Personal Best time of 2.37.50. Alex went on to swim in the final coming 7th in 2.38.06. Sam Nickson swam well in the heats earning him a place in the final where he went on to take the bronze in 2.31.17. Dylan Conway also put in a fine performance in the heats in 2.34.48 and went on to come 4th in the final with a great Personal Best time of 2.32.11. Rubens King swam a strong heat at PB pace and went on to come 4th in the final in a life time best of 2.23.85.

Ella Kenway put in a Personal Best time in the heats in 2.47.90 and went on to come 9th in the final in 2.48.87. Kate Windle and Eva Munden swam well in the heats in 2.52.76 and 2.50.41 respectively. Amy Hodgson swam a season’s best in the heats in 2.46.23 and then went on to swim another season best in the final earning her a well-deserved Bronze medal.

In the Men’s 1500m free George Smith had a good swim but sadly was DQ’d. George Smale swam well and came 8th in the heat declared final in 17.30.74.
