It was Jon Brayne’s turn this weekend to witness some excellent swimming – many pbs and medals at Rushmoor Royal’s Meet. Golden Girl Sarah Norman started the day with a 3 sec pb in 200 free to claim her first gold and then went on to win a further 4 golds and 1 silver.

The boys 50 free was an exciting event to watch with all 5 senior boys swimming a pb and being within 0.72 of each other. Congratulations to David Hammond who swam a 1.20 sec pb to take the fastest time of the squad. Also well done to Iain Alexander who swam a 1.37 sec pb in this event.

The girls not to be out done by the boys saw 6 of them pb in 50 free. Sarah Norman swam the fastest squad time of 29.22. Phoebe Boyles took silver and Nisha Desai bronze. The girls also swam well in both the 100m and 50m fly. 100m fly saw gold for Chloe Elphick and silvers for Phoebe Boyles, Ciara Walsh and Verity McPhail. Chloe also took gold in the 14 age group of the 50 fly and Sarah silver. The 15+ age group saw a Guildford City 1,2,3 with Pheobe getting gold, Amy Wilkinson silver and Nisha bronze. Ciara also added 50m fly bronze to her medals.

Nisha Desai dominated the 15+ breast with golds in 100m and 50m. Verity added a 50m bronze. For the boys 15+ Ryan Taylor took gold in 100m breast and silver in 50m breast. Brendan Liew (14) added 100m breast silver to his 50m free and 50m fly golds. Whilst Andrei Belonogoff (14) added a bronze 100m breast to his 100m back and 200m free silvers.

Other medallists were in the girls 50m back with Emily Christie getting a silver, Tilly Russell and Nisha Desai bronze medals.

Well done everyone who swam at the meet.
