Coach Josh Williamson Takes on New Role Working with City’s Top Swimmers …

Congratulations to Coach Josh Williamson who will officially be managing his own section within the National Youth & Senior Squad from 1 April. Josh’s coaching career has soared over the past two years having developed as the Nays Squad Assistant to taking full responsibility for Marco Loughran’s selection for the London Olympic Games. He is now part of the GB Olympic Coaching Programme “Target Rio 2016” where his experience and coaching expertise will continue to be sharpened at the highest levels.

The Nayss are being divided into three distinct groups to enable Guildford City’s senior elite athletes the opportunity to receive specialised training appropriate to the development of their individual needs. Richard Garfield will focus his day to day coaching on the Individual Medley Group while Josh will take full responsibility for the Distance Freestylers as well as the Senior Sprint Group.

As well as adopting this new leadership role Josh will continue to support Richard as overall National Youth & Senior Squad Assistant Coach.
