“What a wonderful night for our Club. The Guildford City “A” Team has retained the Championship Title for the 9th consecutive year, tying the all time record held by Portsmouth Northsea from 1993 to 2001. Once again we won by a missive margin, this year 52 points to second place Woking. Our swimmers really showed off Guildford’s world class training programme, with many wins coming in the latter stages of each race. As our competitors were clearly fatiguing we seemed to get stronger” claimed a delighted Chief Coach Richard Garfield.

“Our swimmers really excelled tonight” stated National Age Group Coach Lee Spindlow.” They showed that 100m events are not won by simply blasting the first half of the race. It’s gratifying to know that our age group training programme, based on a multi stroke 200m/400m individual medley base, continues to develop the best swimmers in Surrey and the South.

The “B” Team continued its fine work coming 12th overall in the Premiership while the “C” Team came second on the night placing it as runner up in Division 2.

CDS Lead Coach Jon Brayne was clearly delighted. “This is the first year we have put out a “C” Team and we have won promotion to Division 1. Wow!!”

Coach Garfield finished “We are very proud of all of our teams and their coaches tonight. It’s now on to our campaign for 2014!!!”
